BRIDES NAME: Krystal Bowman
GROOMS NAME: Sylvester Agbahiwe
WHERE DID YOU FIRST MEET OTHER?
Undergraduate School; UT at Austin
WHO NOTICED WHOM FIRST?
It was a mutual “noticing” we became friends first and then it grew into more
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST THOUGHTS ABOUT HER?
She was sweet but a bit country in my opinion. I loved her smile.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST THOUGHTS ABOUT HIM?
Overbearing at first; he asked me to cook dinner for him!
WHEN YOU DID YOU KNOW HE WAS THE ONE?
I can’t really say that there was one particular time that I felt like he was the one. It took time for us to grow (together and individually), to learn ourselves, and then learn each other. I like how Sly brings out the best in me. He applauds me when I’m right, but he helps me to see and understand when I am wrong. When I began to see how he challenged me to grow, mature, and be the best person that I can be, I realized that God made us for each other.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE TO YOU?
On the Ponts De Arts Bridge in Paris. The bridge is the nicknamed the Love Lock Bridge. Traditionally a couple will take a lock, write their names on the lock, lock it on the bridge and throw the key in the Seine River below, then they are “locked together forever” He asked me to walk to the bridge with him. Unbeknownst to me, he brought a lock with him. We wrote the date and our initials on the lock, locked it on the bridge, and threw both keys in the water. And as I turned to walk away, he grabbed my hand, was on one knee and proposed.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT HER?
This is very difficult to answer but I love how caring and family oriented she is. I am very big on family and to find someone whose life is centered around family is a great thing. Krystal is also so very giving of her time to others. The last thing that I love and can’t live without is her smile. That was the first thing that attracted me to her.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT HIM?
So many things, it’s hard to narrow down to one. But If I had to choose, it would be his laugh. When he really relaxes and lets go of all his “swag” and truly lets out a good laugh (without any inhibition) it’s the best sound in the world.
WHERE THERE ANY CHALLENGES Y’ALL FACED TOGETHER?
We’ve been apart a lot and have experienced a lot of transition as a young couple. We’ve been in different cities and different states. The distance did take its toll on us as individuals but eventually it made us a much stronger couple.
WHAT MAKES A HAPPY RELATIONSHIP?
Prayer, dedication, and love. There have been so many times that both of us have wanted to quit, but we are forever connected to each other by our love. When times get difficult, we both have to remain dedicated to the relationship. Also, its important to “not sweat the small” to really figure out what has to be dealt with and what’s really not that important.
